There are some excellent values right now if you are interested in Sonoma Valley and/or Sonoma County real estate. Prices in Sonoma, Glen Ellen, Kenwood, Healdsburg, Petaluma and on out to the Sonoma Coast are at an eight year low. Buyers who’ve been thinking about acquiring property in our market would be wise to invest some time to take a serious look.

Properties that are listed today are generally listed by folks who want to sell for what could be a variety of reasons not necessarily related personal economic hardship. I know quite a few Sonoma sellers who simply want to make life changes that they’ve put off for several years due to the overall state of the economy. These sellers are motivated.

Still lurking out there is the threat of higher mortgage interest rates. Sonoma buyers---unless they are cash buyers---are in a tricky spot. Do they wait to find the "perfect wine country property" and risk getting hit with higher payments or take advantage of today’s bargain prices and current low rates?
